Compassion

We try to walk in the shoes of the people we serve and the people we work with across the development community. Our job is to listen with empathy and then respond appropriately and quickly with service and advocacy for each individual, each group or community and for society as a whole.

Service

We are committed to providing care in a manner that exceeds the expectations of:

  • our clients/beneficiaries
  • our families
  • our communities, and
  • our donors

Empathy

Empathy is understanding others and being able to see the world from their perspective. Empathy for our clients/beneficiaries, their families and staff is ingrained in our history and inspires our future.

Team Work

We team together to drive action versus activity. We discuss the undiscussable, always promoting healthy debate and healthy decisions. Our relationships allow us to ask the earth of each other. We make specific verbal contracts to get big things done with urgency and excellence.

Accountability

We build a culture of trust and not fear. As leaders we model the behavior we want to see in others. We hold ourselves accountable for our failures and successes.

Why Us?

We only work with carefully screened and vetted partners on the ground who fulfill our criteria for technical and financial support. Our work is mainly focused on the urgent and longer terms needs of the marginalized groups and communities.

We have chosen to start with supporting marginalized communities in Pakistan and are exploring program options in Kenya. These communities suffer from chronic poverty, lack of education, and quality health care. Some of the communities are subjected to oppressive treatment due to local conditions and are unable to stand on their own feet. It is our approach to provide strong advocacy, access to education and vocational training to these vulnerable communities to build the capacity and confidence in their young and vulnerable population.

Our Approach

Why Pakistan?

We have chosen to start with supporting the most vulnerable communities in Pakistan. These communities in question suffer from extreme poverty and are unable to live comfortably often due to illiteracy, lack of access to health care, lack of social justice, gender inequality, ethnicity, religion and other factors. We believe that no one should be discriminated against on any grounds. We counter hate and intolerance with hope and inclusion and by providing the marginalized with a platform to showcase their talent, leading them to a brighter future with the ability to acquire the necessities to carry on their daily lives.

With approximately 240 million citizens, Pakistan ranks 147th out of 188 countries in the Human Development Index(HDI). Reports on poverty in Pakistan show that as much as 40% of the population–roughly the size of the population of Florida, California and New York combined–live beneath the poverty line.

Grinding poverty and lack of development fuel child labor, illiteracy, religious extremism and endless conflicts on massive scales. The Gross National Income per capita is only $5,031. Life expectancy in Pakistan is at 66.4 years and the expected years of schooling is miserably low at 8.1 years. These figures are among the lowest in the world.

Our Focus and Expertise (Asia and Africa)

We work through partners in Pakistan who are carefully screened and selected to receive our technical and financial support. The founder/CEO, Augustine Gill grew up in Pakistan and has led international NGO programs (American Red Cross and Church World Service) in remote areas of Pakistan, Africa, Europe and other countries of the world. He is intimately familiar with the culture, politics, poverty, discrimination and other challenges facing the most vulnerable in Pakistan.
