Augustine Gill

Founder and Board Chair

Augustine Gill is an accomplished global humanitarian leader, strategist, and nonprofit executive with over three decades of experience designing and managing large-scale international development and emergency response programs across Pakistan, Afghanistan, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Central Asia, and the United States.

As the Founder and Board Chair of Hope Beyond Frontiers, Augustine has built a mission-driven organization anchored in service, equity, and resilience. He has assembled a distinguished team of professionals, volunteers, and advisors who share a commitment to uplifting vulnerable communities through education, health, workforce development, and crisis recovery.

Augustine has led multi-million-dollar programs with world-renowned organizations including Save the Children, American Red Cross, International Rescue Committee, and Catholic Charities. His portfolio includes landmark initiatives in poverty alleviation, disaster risk reduction, public health, and education access, impacting millions across conflict-affected and underserved regions.

He holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of the Punjab and a Master’s in International Development and Cross-Cultural Communication from the School for International Training (SIT Graduate Institute) in Brattleboro, Vermont. Augustine began his international career in Africa, working during periods of civil unrest and humanitarian crisis in Angola (1989), Mozambique (1991), Malawi (1993–94), and Ethiopia, later serving as Save the Children’s Desk Officer for Southern Africa and Country Director in Azerbaijan.

A significant portion of his career was dedicated to leadership roles in the Former Soviet Union, including Russia and Central Asia, where he served in senior positions with the American Red Cross. In 2006, Augustine returned to Pakistan to lead the American Red Cross’s inaugural program following the catastrophic 2005 earthquake. He was instrumental in launching and managing a $25 million disaster recovery initiative in collaboration with the Pakistan Red Crescent Society and other national partners.

Augustine is also the author of Beyond the Brink: Christians of Pakistan in Search of Co-Existence in a Hostile and Turbulent Pakistan (Amazon, January 2025), a compelling exploration of religious freedom, national identity, and the socio-political dynamics that shape the lives of Pakistan’s 250 million citizens.

Based in California, Augustine continues to provide strategic leadership to nonprofit boards and community-based organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area and the greater Sacramento Area, leveraging his global experience to strengthen local impact.
